Vishay Foil Resistors
Part of Vishay Precision Group (VPG), Vishay Foil Resistors (VFR) produces the most precise and stable resistors in the market. VFR prides itself on their unique Bulk Metal® Foil (BMF) technology that was invented over 4 decades ago as it still surpasses all other resistor technologies that are currently available.
VFR’s BMF products has extremely low temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) and exceptional long-term stability through extreme temperatures that are suitable for applications like medical testing, semiconductor, precision measuring, aerospace, and military. All of which requires a high degree of precision, stability, and reliability. Designers can considerably reduce circuit errors and significantly improve overall circuit performance with the award-winning range.
Resistors in the BMF range include discrete resistors and resistor networks in surface mount and through-hole (leaded) configurations; customized chip resistor networks; precision trimming potentiometers; and discrete chips for use in hybrid circuits. These products come in a variety of resistor configurations and package types to meet the needs of a wide range of applications.
In 2000, VFR introduced Bulk Metal® Z-Foil which are products that can deliver an absolute temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of 0.2 ppm/°C. The lower the TCR, the better a resistor can maintain its precise value regardless of the ambient temperature variations and self-heating when power is applied. BMF resistors are non-inductive (less than 0.08 micro Henrys), not capacitive, and provides a rise time of 1 nanosecond. Its thermal EMF is less than 0.05 µV/°C, making it important for low-ohmic DC applications, and are very suitable for high frequency applications.
