Pickering releases Industry-first 20kV stand-off relay

19 April, 2025

Pickering Electronics is proud to announce the launch of its groundbreaking Series 63 reed relay featuring an industry-first 20kV stand-off across the switch contacts.

The new Series 63 20kV Reed Relay is engineered for demanding high-voltage applications, offering a robust 20kV stand-off capability and 12.5kV switching capacity, while maintaining a maximum power rating of 50W. Built with tungsten-plated contacts, the relay ensures long-lasting reliability, supporting up to 100 million operations in cold switching conditions. Its compact design and superior performance make it ideal for a wide range of high-voltage testing applications, including hi-pot testers, electric vehicle (EV) charging point testing, cable testing, solar energy systems, medical devices, and high-voltage instrumentation.

With its short lead times (3-4 weeks for up to 200 units and 5-6 weeks for larger orders), Pickering Electronics is providing an efficient solution for industries needing high-quality, reliable high-voltage switching technology.

Key Features:

  • 20kV stand-off and 12.5kV switching, with a maximum of 50W power handling.

  • Long life tungsten-plated contacts support up to 100 million operations.

  • Fast delivery options: 3-4 weeks for orders up to 200 units, and 5-6 weeks for larger quantities.

  • Form A (energize-to-make) and Form B (energize-to-break) configurations available, with 24V coils.

  • Option for Form C (change-over) functionality by combining Form A and Form B.

  • Compact PCB mounting with push-on HV connections for easy integration.

  • Internal mu-metal magnetic screen for minimal magnetic interference, with optional electrostatic screening for improved EMC protection.

  • Maximum switch current: 3A; Maximum carry current: 3.5A.
