Alpha Electronics

As a part of Vishay Precision Group (VPG), Alpha Electronics produces precision resistors using Bulk Metal® Foil (BMF) technology since 1978, known for consistently delivering highly stable, accurate and reliable resistors.

 

The BMF resistors are used as key components in applications like Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), precision instrumentation, weighing scales, aerospace, military, laboratory and metrology, industrial process control, semiconductor manufacturing and test, medical systems, high-end audio, and more.

 

Alpha Electronics has an impressive portfolio of products including discrete resistors and resistor networks in surface mount and through-hole (fixed-lead) configurations; customized chip resistor networks; precision trimming potentiometers; and discrete chips for use in hybrid circuits.

 

The resistance stability of Bulk Metal® Foil resistors against changes in temperature makes them excellent metrological standard resistors. Without the use of oil baths that conventional standard resistors require, national standard institutes and local calibration laboratories in Japan use their standard resistors both for primary and secondary standards.

Bulk Metal® Foil Resistors - Surface Mount (SMT)

The SMT Resistors has a high degree of precision and stable Bulk Metal® Foil resistor with TCR of 0±5 ppm/°C and resistance tolerance: up to ±0.01%. The load-life stability is ±0.005% (typical, 70°C, 2000 hrs., rated power) and is also AEC-Q200 qualified.

Bulk Metal® Foil Resistors - Through-hole

Through-hole Resistors in the BMF range has excellent temperature characteristics, accurate value on four-terminal wiring, even in low extremity of resistance, high heat dissipation due to aluminum-clad construction with fins, readiness to mount to heat sink or water-cooled radiator, and availability of threaded holes to fix cables with screw. Suitable for applications like precision power supply and charge-discharge test for high capacity batteries.

Thin Film Resistors

The Thin Film Resistors are great for applications like current sense/voltage divider for precision instrumentation, ATE, medical, electric scale as it has high liability transfer molded package to ensure minimal stress from ambient environment, TCR of ±5.0 ppm/C° (-55C° to +125C°), and tolerance of ±0.02%.

Thermosensitive Resistors and Temperature Sensors

This ultra precision Thermosensitive Resistor is made of material only a few µm thick and the metal foil used has a resistivity that varies linearly with temperature change. Strict control of foil composition maintains uniform quality without fluctuation of temperature characteristics of resistance. These Resistors are ideally designed for temperature detection, providing small size and rapid response applications.

Standard Resistors

Alpha Electronics' Bulk Metal Foil construction provides excellent AC characteristics — superior to performance of conventional wirewound standard resistors. The resistive elements are held by special designed case so, it's suitable for environment with vibration during transportation.
